OUTDOOR KIDS SCHOLARSHIPS

Every child deserves access to nature-based therapy. As a California Benefit Corporation, OKOT offers as many scholarships as possible each year for families who need financial assistance to access our services.

How It Works:

Scholarship funds are reserved for families who have sought all available public funding first.

1. Apply for Regional Center funding or any other available local funding sources before submitting a scholarship request.

  • California families: please see our Regional Center guides below.

2. Fill out your OKOT application so we can see if we have openings that fit your child’s availability.

3. If you are denied by Regional Center or still require additional funds to access our services, email support@outdoorkidsot.com to receive a scholarship application.

4. OKOT reviews applications on a rolling basis and we do our best to respond within two weeks.

  • Serves families in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. If your child attends one of our East Bay OKOT locations, RCEB is your Regional Center.

    • Check eligibility for developmental disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, and more at rceb.org. (You may still apply if your child does not have a specific diagnosis. Children without specific diagnoses may still qualify.)

    • Contact RCEB intake to begin the assessment process

    • Complete an intake assessment to confirm eligibility

    • Develop an Individualized Program Plan (IPP) that includes occupational therapy

    • Discuss financial aid options for therapy with your case manager

    • Select an approved therapy provider with RCEB support

  • Serves families in San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo counties. If your child attends one of our San Francisco OKOT locations, GGRC is your Regional Center.

    • Check eligibility for developmental disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, and more at ggrc.org. (You may still apply if your child does not have a specific diagnosis. Children without specific diagnoses may still qualify.)

    • Contact GGRC intake to begin the assessment process

    • Complete an intake assessment to confirm eligibility
