Lia Stratton, MS, OTR/L
OKOT Occupational Therapist - Madison, WI branch
I received my M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University in Massachusetts, and my B.S. in Psychology from UW-Madison. I discovered a love of working with kids in nature when working at a therapeutic summer camp for children on the Autism spectrum; but in hindsight my love for the outdoors started as a mosquito-bite-covered child with dirt under her fingernails and a collection of rocks, sticks, and leaves. As an occupational therapist, I am passionate about helping kids live their fullest possible lives and see nature as the ultimate therapeutic environment to bring those possibilities to life. While my heart may be in nature, I have been lucky to work in a variety of indoor settings as well, including in early childhood education, outpatient pediatric practice, and inpatient mental health facilities. I consider myself a lifelong learner and have pursued continuing education in the areas of neurodiversity, trauma-informed care, interoception, social-emotional health, Zones of Regulation, Alert Program and sensory processing, and yoga for classrooms. I am excited to bring my skills and experience to OKOT in Madison and learn together with your kids about ourselves and our potential.
