Ella Shields, OTD, OTR/L

OKOT Occupational Therapist - California branch

I hold a doctorate in occupational therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a B.S. in neuroscience and cognitive studies from Millsaps College. My background includes neurological rehabilitation, adaptive outdoor recreation, school based practice, and integrative health.

I am so excited to support kids as they grow in confidence to navigate the natural and social worlds through Outdoor Kids OT. I grew up in the mountains of western North Carolina and spent a lot of time outdoors. My own appreciation for nature drives my practice as OT in this setting. I hope to support your child's development and experience of nature. My practice prioritizes connection and trust to create an environment for joyful play and skill development.

Outside of OT, I have experience instructing yoga to children with disabilities. Throughout my life, practicing sports has been a source of regulation and community. I love skiing, tennis, cycling, bouldering, surfing, and hiking! I am so looking forward to meeting your family.
