Who: Kids ages 4-7 or 7-10 who could benefit from building motor coordination, confidence, self-regulation, or social skills in a small-group supportive outdoor environment, led by an occupational therapist and 2 adults who are pre-OT or OT graduate students. Approximate 1:2 ratio of adults to kids; 6-7 children total.

What: Using our ConTiGO approach (Connection & Transformation in the Great Outdoors), Outdoor Kids Camp will offer therapeutic and playful activities to build your child's connection with peers and boost their motor and social skills through intensive OT (20 hours in one week!) in the great outdoors.  We'll do group games, nature exploration, tree climbing, fort building, scavenger hunts, water play, open-ended creative activities, and of course: FREE PLAY!

When: We offer camp from 9am-1pm Monday-Friday. At this time, we do not have staffing to provide after-care. Please see our application for specific dates.

Where: Drop off and pick up at Bordner Park, in west Madison. We will spend time in Owen Conservation Park & Glen Oak Hills Park, as well as the Crestwood woods surrounding Owen.

Cost: $595/week. Includes initial intake and goal development, OT intervention during camp, daily group email updates about camp activities, plus one written OT report of progress after your child’s end of attendance at summer camp. Pre or post-camp consultation calls with the OT may be additionally purchased, if desired.

‼️ PLEASE NOTE: Applying for camp does NOT guarantee placement for every week you have chosen on your application. In a group therapy model, the overall goodness-of-fit for each child in the group is important. At OKOT, we make every effort to form effective small groups from all applications received, based on the children’s individual needs and goals. This is what makes our therapy camps different than other camps: groups that are intentionally formed with therapeutic benefits for each child in the group.
